Purpose
The Inventory Controller maintains records of stock in inventory and on order. Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies supervisor of irregularities.
Key Performance Arears
- Running and clearing of daily stock reports
- To resolve Discrepancies – both from branches, franchises and other customers
- Range counts
- Cycle counts
- Discrepancy & variance investigations for stock in your branch
- Stock Adjustment requests for your branch
- Transfers & transfer reversals
- Stock queries
- IBT queries
- Training of staff on stock control & company procedures (Inventory related training)
- Variance report investigations in your branch
- Investigating all no-stocks
- Signing off all picking slips & requisitions with “no-stocks” or “problem-stocks” before invoicing/posting and capture these onto your shared problem stock list
- Investigating & resolving these problem stocks
- Checking all RTS stock before it is returned to the lockups (using the correct procedure as per company policies)
- Submit the weekly reports (BOF; MULTIPLE BINS; OBSOLETE; OUTSTANDING DISCREPANCIES; IN TRANSIT; BACKORDERS WITH STOCK & ALL OTHER INVENTORY RELATED REPORTS) to the National Inventory manager & the Branch- & Warehouse manager
- Backorder picking
- Lockup Inspections
- Ensuring that the warehouse is running according to company procedures & requirements.
Key Performance Indicators
- A minimum of two years' experience as a stock controller in a similar industry
- Proficiency in inventory management software Accpac and Web orders
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices
- Extensive experience in supply chain data analysis
- Great analytical and problem-solving skills
- Superb negotiation, collaboration, and communication abilities
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
